The light now travels across the horizon, reaching deep into the dark tomb. A sliver of hope illuminates the chamber, piercing the illusion of endless night. For in this moment, new life, new worlds, new beginnings are being created simply by a determined pinpoint of unwavering light. That light my friends, is an act unlike any other. With this light, a new world is created. It is hope. It is promise. It is rebirth. It is the bolt of lightening that jolts us into being and the animating force that imbues us all. Here, all is possible.
Over the last eight weeks, we have journeyed together, tracing our personal highs and lows. We have explored the dark recesses of our heart and soul. We have opened ourselves to a wide range of energies and memories that we have been carrying throughout our lives. While we took the time we needed to be still and silent, we gazed upon the reflections of our past and opened our hearts to the experiences that helped to shape us into who we are today. Although the roads though the liminal lands are never easy, they are important in so many ways. They allow us the chance to look back at who we were and what we have done. We can reflect and heal. We can release and grow. We can hope and dream new dreams and welcome the change with new possibilities. This is what the season brings, and it is up to us if we want to embrace all of it.
We have walked this path together while we were led by the Cailleach. She, who is the Lady of Winter, still rules the harsh, bitter winds that blow across the sleeping, snow covered lands. She walks the hills and valleys to remind us that we need this time to rest, recover, and renew our bodies and energies. To sleep, is a chance to dream. To dream, is a chance to create. As we restore ourselves, she reminds us that we are gaining our own strength, much like the sun that has now returned. This is a time to go slow and learn to love who we are. For this life is a mere blink of an eye. It is up to us to live it and hopefully to its fullest.
So on this day and during the holiday season, I wish that you come to know who you are. I wish that you embrace the peace, love, and hope that you deserve. I wish you the chance to dream and create what fills your heart and warms your soul. The days are short, and the nights are long during the winter season. However, the sun has returned, and in many ways, we have as well. I hope you can see that.
Blessings to you upon your journey. Thank you for joining me on mine. I am grateful that you have walked with me as we explored these liminal lands. I am looking forward to begin again as we move into a new year.
Happy Holidays and with much love,
Renee Bedard, The Whispering Crow
